AESIT® renovated an 18th-century building in the historic district of Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, where the owner sought additional space. The architect designed an open floor plan on the first level, merging the entertainment space and kitchen. In contrast, the second level features executive sleeping quarters, a bath, guest space, and convenient upstairs laundry. Our collaborative team focused on superior designs to enhance the home's natural aesthetics. The Alexandria Virginia Historic District, a National Historic Landmark, showcases well-preserved late 18th and early 19th-century architecture, blending its historic roots with modern events, and our renovation contributes to the city's timeless charm and vibrant narrative.
The Architectural Graphic Standards (AGS), endorsed by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), is an essential guide for architects, designers, and builders, covering visualizations for elements like door frames and roof designs. With nearly eight decades of history, it remains a crucial resource in the field. In its 9th Edition Supplement, AESIT® was an integral contributor to this authoritative publication. The recent modernization and online accessibility of AGS enhance its usability, providing architects, designers, engineers, and graphic artists with easy access to vital standards and fostering innovation in architecture. AESIT® was honored to help shape this transformative journey alongside a select group of industry professionals.
AESIT® collaborated with a Washington DC firm to design and engineer a 62-story tower in Hong Kong, China, with 1.25 million square feet and overlooking Victoria Harbor. Under the direction of Leo A. Daly and Cesar Pelli and Associates, AESIT® furnished building gross floor area (GFA) calculations, usable floor area (UFA) space, and egress statistics for floor design criterion and specification establishment for maximum pedestrian occupancy and egress efficiency, highlighted by an award-winning curvilinear pedestrian bridge connected to Hong Kong's bridge system. AESIT® weaved Feng Shui principles, incorporating the five elements—wood, fire, earth, metal, and water—to enhance harmony and balance in the design elements.
AESIT® was commissioned to participate in designing and constructing an artistic freestanding structural exhibit for the Northern Virginia unveiling of Lamborghini's (0-62 mph in 3.6 seconds) Urus. The world's first super sport utility vehicle blends supercar performance with SUV versatility. Our display featured a sophisticated blend of fabric and vinyl and motion graphics, animation, lighting, and music, with the vehicle showcased on an illuminated raised carpeted platform that captivated enthusiasts. The Urus, which shares its 600-horsepower engine with the Gallardo and draws design inspiration from the Aventador, going on to become a significant contributor to Lamborghini's record-breaking sales in 2021 with a 13% increase over the previous year.
AESIT® streamlined the development of a transformative workplace solution by merging an integrated workplace management system (IWMS) with an enterprise asset management platform. Our team managed the design, technical execution, and stakeholder engagement for this project. AESIT®'s cohesive implementation streamlined facility, security, and IT operations into a single intelligent system, leveraging AI capabilities for dynamic space management and enhanced asset management with predictive maintenance tools. Our integration design ensured seamless data flow between the platforms while upholding compliance requirements. This comprehensive solution upgraded our installed CMS solution following FISMA cybersecurity standards.
AESIT® furnished project management and network administration services for the WMATA Silver Line rail transit extension, which now includes 34 stations from Virginia to Maryland across the Washington DC metropolitan area. We coordinated engineering efforts, supervised and trained personnel, and administered networked engineering applications and appliances for the Dulles Corridor Metro-Rail Expansion Project. AESIT® exceeded its goals by delivering the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) project within budget and under demanding time constraints. AESIT®'s guidance led to a Certificate of Achievement in Leadership Award for outstanding performance in engineering project management and network administration.
AESIT® modernized a federal agency's Configuration Management System by transforming disconnected desktop systems and Excel spreadsheets into an enterprise-wide Oracle solution that seamlessly integrated facility assets, space management, and physical security components. This comprehensive CAFM implementation became the agency's first system to achieve FISMA high-baseline compliance, while providing enhanced inventory tracking, work order management, comprehensive documentation, disaster recovery, and 24/7 support—all maintaining 99.9% uptime and delivering substantial cost savings through improved operational efficiency.
AESIT® executed a comprehensive cloud migration for a nationwide enterprise, transitioning from legacy Microsoft Office desktop applications to Microsoft 365 with zero downtime. The seamless overnight implementation preserved all user data, security protocols, and licensing while deploying Microsoft 365's full suite across Windows, macOS, mobile, and web platforms. The AESIT® team provided thorough pre-migration training and continuous 24/7 support, enabling users to harness Microsoft 365's industry-leading collaboration tools and productivity features immediately, modernizing the organization's entire desktop ecosystem.
AESIT® managed and protected an organization's nationwide enterprise communications infrastructure. We administered their LAN/WAN, VOIP telecommunications systems, and cybersecurity appliances. Our team facilitated hardware life cycles, server equipment management, software deployment, licensing compliance, technologies, practices, and policies to protect computer systems, networks, and data from cyberattacks and unauthorized access. Our work encompassed installing high-speed WiFi networks, completing a Disaster Recovery Plan, and delivering solutions aligned within budget constraints.
AESIT® was awarded a contract to implement access control, CCTV, and perimeter intrusion detection systems at Naval Station Rota in Spain, a strategic facility jointly operated by Spanish and U.S. forces under Spanish command that supports Naval Forces Europe Africa Central (EURAFCENT), Sixth Fleet, and COCOM operations. As a tenant facility of Spanish Naval Base Rota, where external security is managed by the Spanish Navy and internal security is shared between both nations, AESIT®'s cleared personnel have provided comprehensive technical services, including access control systems, engineering schematics, and as-built documentation, contributing to the base's mission of delivering superior operational and logistical support to tenant commands and transiting warfighters. AESIT®'s contributions enhance the overall security framework of Naval Station Rota.
AESIT® aided in integrating multiple security systems at Naval Base Guam (NBG), a strategic U.S. Navy facility in Apra Harbor that merged with Andersen Air Force Base in 2009 to form Joint Region Marianas. The project capsulized emergency telecommunications, radio systems, physical security and fire alarms, and video surveillance from numerous sites into a centralized control facility, where cleared engineers designed vast security solutions, including access control, CCTV with refined digital recording abilities, fire monitoring, intrusion detection, and a command center featuring video wall systems. Located roughly 3,200 miles west of Hawaii in the U.S. territory of Guam, NBG continues to serve as a crucial naval power base in the Western Pacific region. This integration project enriches operational efficiency and security at this military installation.
AESIT® was selected to participate in delivering physical security systems at Naval Air Station Keywest, Florida. NAS Key West's national security mission supports the operational and readiness requirements of the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, National Guard units, federal agencies, and allied forces. AESIT® personnel furnished access control, diagrams, engineering, and as-built documentation for NAS Key West security equipment. The station has a sophisticated Tactical Combat Training System (TCTS), similar to the one depicted in the famous movie "Top Gun," that tracks and records aerial maneuvers. NAS Key West remained open and evolved into a state-of-the-art air-to-air combat training facility for all military services. Our alliance highlights AESIT®'s commitment to national security, advanced technology, and strategic partnerships.
